Relieve your 4th quarter frustrations at AAHU's first ever AXE THROWING SOCIAL while kicking off holiday season with friends and colleagues

Venue: Urban Axes, 812 Airport Blvd, Austin, TX 78702

We will first get trained by an axe throwing expert, who will show us how to safely handle an axe and chuck it with accuracy, while giving tips on how to capture the bullseye! After training, we will be given one hour of free time to perfect our own axe-throwing skills. This “axe-citing” event will take place at Urban Axes on Thursday, November 8, 6:00-8:30pm. Please arrive on time, as they will only hold one training session for the whole group – training begins at 6:30 pm. You will NOT be allowed to throw an axe if you miss the training.

Since this is a Social event to kick off the holiday season, food will be provided, but feel free to BYOB. However, glass bottles and hard liquor are NOT permitted.

There will be no AAHU event in December. This will be your social opportunity of the year to celebrate a successful 2018 with AAHU friends! Come out and enjoy the fun, and then plan to join us on November 15, 2018 at Alamo Drafthouse for a Mid-term election update from Janet Trautwein, and again on January 10, 2019 as we welcome a Senior Investigator from the Employee Benefits Security Administration of the Department of Labor! Registration is now live for all upcoming meetings.

It is recommended that you wear comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes. Open toed shoes will NOT be permitted. Flannel shirts will receive a high-five from your instructor! You will NOT be admitted if intoxicated, and will NOT be refunded. All participants must bring a valid photo ID that can verify their age, to be admitted into the facility. If you enjoy your time with your “Axepert” please feel free to leave a tip, however, tipping is not required.

Will they teach me how to do it safely?!

Group events start with safety instructions and 1-on-1 throwing practice, led by our fully trained coaches

What happens during the group event?

Once you’ve sharpened your skills, we’ll kick off a round robin tournament followed by final knockout round to award an axe throwing champion. Our coaches will take care of all scoring and smooth flow of the tournament.
