1.0 Hour of General CE
HR Certification and SHRM Credit is Pending.

This presentation has been given to local AHU Chapters throughout Texas, but ONLY in Austin will guests be able to hear the perspective of BOTH a Current Senior Investigator AND a Former Investigator!

Our Speakers

Keyashia R. Barkins, Senior Investigator, EBSA

Keyashia has been with the agency since 2006, but has held the Senior Investigator position since 2008 and is licensed to practice law in the state of Texas.

Elizabeth Allen, Vice President, Benefits Compliance, NFP Corp.

Elizabeth advises employers and brokers on employee benefits compliance issues. Prior to joining NFP, Elizabeth spent five years as an investigator for the U.S. Department of Labor's Employee Benefits Security Administration. Elizabeth holds the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation, and is a member of the State Bar of Texas.

Even for small employers, ERISA compliance is a looming risk. Any employer with just one “common-law” employee must comply and the Austin Association of Health Underwriters is pleased to welcome Keyashia R. Barkins, a Senior Investigator with the Dallas Regional Office of the U.S. Department of Labor, Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA), and Elizabeth Allen, VP of Benefits Compliance with NFP, to you to help you navigate the minefield!

New DOL enforcement practices can bring random audits to employers of any size. Don’t miss this exciting presentation on what you NEED TO KNOW!
