We wanted to share a charitable giving opportunity. Our friends at the San Antonio Association of Health Underwriters are collecting Gift Cards in partnership with Marble Falls ISD in an effort to assist the over 300 families who lost their homes in the recent Highland Lakes flooding. Since Marble Falls is a small community with limited shopping opportunities, the specific request is only for gift cards that may be used at Wal-Mart, Home Depot, H-E-B, or a Prepaid Visa that could be used anywhere. AAHU is happy to support this worthwhile project, and will collect any gift cards at the Alamo Drafthouse event this Thursday.

Janet Trautwein will break down the impact of the midterm elections and what they will mean for the health insurance politics and policy in the new year. Janet will address issues such as:

What should we watch for during the lame duck session?

If Democrats take back the House, could single-payer or Medicare-for-All reach the president's desk?

How could such a proposal mesh with President Trump's campaign promise to provide "insurance for everybody" and "a lot less expensive?"

What will be the major legislative and regulatory concerns driving health policy?

What will be NAHU's policy priorities for the 116th Congress and how will they be achieved?

How can NAHU members, the overall agent/broker community, and employers can get involved?
